Survey on Most Desired Information

At Prof360, we surveyed 232 academic administrators (deans, program/department chairs, program/department directors) and asked, “What one piece of information about your adjunct or full-time faculty do you wish you had more readily available?”

Here are the top five responses:

  1. 32% of the top five respondents wanted to be able to easily access faculty expertise and current research.
  2. 28% expressed an interest in understanding the faculty members' pedagogical approaches and how they evolve over time.
  3. 24% wanted to have teaching evaluations more accessible.
  4. 12% wanted quick access to the faculty members' contact information when they need it.
  5. 4% of the respondents wondered how the faculty were using social media in their research and in the classroom.

__________________________

22% of responses fell outside the top 5 responses and most only had 1 - 3 similar responses. A few of those outlying responses included:

  • "What consulting or outside work they are doing?"
  • "What hobbies do they have?"
  • "What is their favorite movie or book?"
  • "Are they living their passion?"
